Overview
I am a native Texan. Specifically I was born in Houston, TX and have lived in Humble, TX all my life. I have traveled but, other than the weather, I can’t find a better place to be. I split my time between many areas of interest. I will go into these in more detail below but they include: computers, scouting, and fun.

Scouting
I joined Cub Scouts Pack 241 in 1987. The Cub Master was Mike Sutton and I was in a Den led by Rick Fraser. I completed my Arrow of Light before moving on to Boy Scout Troop 249. At the time, the Scout Master was Tom Hooper and the Senior Patrol Leader was Jeremy Sampson. I progressed through the ranks fast, making life before I was even 12 but I then slowed down and took a leadership role. I served my troop in many leadership positions including Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Den Chief, Instructor, Scribe, Historian, Librarian, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and Senior Patrol Leader. During this time I attended over 10 summer camps, Troop Junior Leader Training, Council Junior Leader Training Conference, staffed Troop JLTs, staffed Cub Day Camp, instructed Den Chief Training, visited the Philmont Training Center and was invited to National Junior Leader Instructor Camp. I was also elected into the Order of the Arrow and eventually completed my Brotherhood. I became active in my Chapter and Lodge. I was on our Ceremonies team, Chairmen of the Membership Committee and served two terms as Chapter Chief. During this time I represented our Lodge at the National Order of the Arrow Conference in 1994 at Purdue University and represented our Council in the Texas Legislature at the annual Report to State. I was able to attend one high adventure camp during my time is scouting which was the Coral Reef Adventure at Sea Base, Florida. I became an Eagle Scout in 1999 with 46 merit badges, the snorkeling certification, world conservation award, and the den chief service award.
All of this would mean nothing if I didn’t take what I learned and apply it to my every day life. It would also be a waste to take all the knowledge I learned from Scouting and not give it back in some way. That is why at the end of last year I began training to be an adult Scouter. I have completed New Leader Essentials, Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster Specific Training, and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills. My goal is to start a new unit in the image of the one I was a member of as a youth. I hope by the end of the year to have this up and running.
